Right outside the Royal Mile is Aurthur's Seat which is a volcano/mountain that sits at the cities edge. We started our trek up this mountain and at about halfway there is ruins of an old chapel, St.Anthony which was really neat to see. We continued the hike all the way to the top! It was hard and my calves will definitely be feeling it in the morning but the view from the top was breathtaking! you could see all of Edinburgh, other cities located around the mountain, and the North Sea. It was really really windy too. It almost felt like you were going to blow right off the top. As I was getting up to the top there were two little scottish boys with their mother and one of the boys said "mum you can almost touch the clouds up here!" it was so cute and definitely made the moment. After that we hiked down the other side of Aurthur's Seat and ate dinner at the oldest pub in the UK Sheep's Heid, then it was about a 3 mile walk around the base of Aurthur's Seat back to a bus to get us to Dalkieth. There was so much to see that it made it worth it.
I took around 200 photos throughout the day so here is some of my favorites. We are headed to Glasgow Scotland for two days and one night. There are a lot of cool museums and architecture there and I will definitely have some pictures to post!
